Master the Map: Interactive Asia Map Game
Welcome to the ultimate Asia Map Challenge! Covering a massive portion of the globe, the continent of Asia features everything from the world's largest country to some of its smallest island nations. As a classroom teacher with decades of experience, I know how intimidating this region can be for students to memorize. That is exactly why I built this interactive, ad-free game.
Whether you are a student preparing for a major geography test, or one of the over 100,000 educators who trust Mister Harms resources in your classroom, this quiz is designed to make learning the countries of Asia fun, intuitive, and highly effective—without the distraction of banner ads or pop-ups.
How to Play
The Map: Click and drag to pan around. Scroll (or pinch on mobile) to zoom in on smaller countries. Click the button in the bottom right to reset the map to the full view.
Voice Assistant: Click the icon to toggle spoken country names on or off.
Progress Bar: Keep an eye on the blue bar across the top of the screen to track your completion as you successfully identify countries.
Map Click Hints: Having trouble finding a country? In Level 2, a red radar pulse will highlight the answer after two incorrect clicks. You can click directly on the radar pulse to move forward!
Personal Bests: The game automatically tracks your fastest time and highest accuracy locally on your device!
Quick Summary: The Asia Map Challenge
What it is: A free, interactive digital map game to learn the 48 countries of Asia.
Who it’s for: Middle school, high school, and homeschool students (and lifelong learners!).
The Environment: 100% ad-free so students stay focused on learning.
Game Modes: Three difficulty levels including Multiple Choice, The Map Click, and The Typist.
Special Features: Smart zoom for micro-states, built-in hint radar, and local Personal Best score tracking.
How to Play the Asia Map Game
I designed this game to grow with the student. You can choose from three different difficulty levels depending on your confidence with Asian geography:
Level 1: Multiple Choice (Beginner) Perfect for introducing the continent. The game highlights a country on the map, and you choose the correct name from four possible options.
Level 2: The Map Click (Intermediate) The classic map challenge. I give you the name of a country, and you have to find it and click on it. Having trouble locating tiny island nations or city-states like the Maldives, Bahrain, or Singapore? Don't worry—the game automatically drops a visual hint system and zooms in to help you out!
Level 3: The Typist (Advanced) The ultimate test of mastery. The map highlights a country, and you must type the name correctly from memory.
Asian Countries Included in this Game
This game tests your knowledge of the standard UN-recognized independent nations located within the Asian continent. The game includes the following 48 sovereign countries:

"This resource is excellent. The layout and design is professional quality, as well as pedagogically sound. I used components during the first week of school to engage my World History students and build interest in the class. There was a visible, positive student response and visible engagement -- which means I had zero behavioral issues as a result. Can you give any higher praise than that?" - Ronald ★★★★★!

The Declaration of Independence was really just a big "break-up" letter written by the colonists to the King of Great Britain. This historical document was written to convince the world of the King's abuses and to let everyone know that the colonies no longer wanted to be in a relationship with Great Britain.
While studying the Declaration of Independence, students will use this assignment as a reinforcement to understand just what Jefferson wrote in this historical document. The lesson starts with the teacher reading a juicy "break-up" letter that was found in the classroom.
After all the suspense and drama of the reading, students will be directed to the texting assignment. By texting back and forth, this lesson is a fun way to understand the "big idea" behind the Declaration of Independence. Students will also be able to include their creativity using hashtags and emojis! This activity is definitely #OneOfMyFavorites!
⭐️ As featured on TpT Facebook page
⭐️ As featured on We Are Teachers social media!
What’s Included in the Lesson Pack?
Teacher directions for an entire lesson introducing this "break-up" letter concept of the Declaration of Independence.
An already written, juicy "break-up" letter for the teacher to find and then hesitantly read aloud as students go crazy trying to figure out who wrote it!
This staged "break-up" letter will lead into a discussion and texting activity for students to write their own "break-up" messages to the king.
A texting worksheet that has excerpts from the Declaration of Independence in a texting style format for students to share their responses based on historical fact.
A printable list of texting lingo abbreviations for students to have fun using.
All necessary items are included and are also provided in GOOGLE DRIVE format!

Overview:
Looking for an engaging, no-prep review game that works with any subject and keeps students excited about learning? This Ultimate Review Game is your go-to classroom activity for test prep, end-of-year review, unit wrap-ups, or anytime you want to make review fun and competitive. Originally designed to boost engagement in my own classroom, it quickly became a favorite—and now it's ready for yours!
How the Game Works:
This interactive classroom game is inspired by the classic Battleship game format. Students are grouped into teams, and each team is secretly assigned 10 ships, each loaded with hidden treasure (or digital currency, depending on the theme). Here’s how it works:
The teacher asks review questions (from any subject: ELA, math, science, history, etc.)
Teams raise hands to answer
A correct answer earns a chance to attack another team’s ship
Teams gain (or lose) points based on the treasure found
The game continues until all review questions are answered
The team with the most gold or bitcoin wins!
⭐️ Perfect for test review games, end of year activities, or any fun day
✅ Two Themed Game Modes Included:
🏴☠️ Classic Battleships (Pirate Themed) – Students hunt for gold hidden in enemy ships.
🤑 Cryptohack (Digital Bitcoin Themed) – Teams “hack” into opponents' digital accounts to steal virtual currency.
Both themes use the same flexible gameplay and can be adapted for any grade or subject content!
✅ What’s Included in This Download
Teacher instructions with step-by-step directions
Editable Battleship & Cryptohack templates
Printable score tracking sheets
Treasure cards (positive and negative point values)
All game materials – just print and play!
Ideal for grades 5–10 (but easily adaptable)
✅ Why Teachers Love This Game

Boosts student engagement and participation
Encourages collaborative learning and classroom competition
No prep required—great for sub plans, review days, or test prep sessions

How It Works:
The script follows a fictional emigrant family, the Millers, from their "jumping off town" in Independence, Missouri, toward their new home in Oregon City. Along the way, the class must debate and vote on critical decisions:
Geography: Purchase supplies in Independence, cross the dangerous Platte River, and pass landmarks like Chimney Rock and South Pass.
Survival: Encounter Native American traders, face typical trials like cholera, and make the ultimate choice at The Dalles, Oregon.
The Climax: Your Students Decide their Fate!
At the end of the main script, your class must vote:
Choice A: The Columbia River. Risk the massive whirlpools on a pine log raft?
Choice B: The Barlow Pass. Spend your last $5 on a toll road to risk starvation in the dense Mt. Hood forests?
Based on the vote, you flip to the corresponding Alternate Ending (included!) to discover if your wagon train successfully navigated their path... or paid the final price of the trail.
Perfect for Distance Learning & Classroom Differentiation:
This product is a flexible educational tool designed to fit any classroom:
Role Play: Features a cast of 15–20 people, perfect for whole-class engagement.
Informational Text: Strengthens reading comprehension, analysis of primary sources, and understanding of context.
Cross-Curricular: Covers Social Studies standard (Manifest Destiny, Manifest Destiny, Movement West) and ELA standards (reading fluency, perspective, and debate).
What’s Included in Your Download:
Full Readers Theater Script (Acts 1-5).
Class Voting Guide & Debate Prompt.
Alternate Ending A: The Columbia River (Risky and white-water based!).
Alternate Ending B: The Barlow Pass (Exhausting and land-based!).
A Student Diary Reflection Activity based on the characters' point of view.
